Texas Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend After ‘Hard Braking’ Launched Her Off Hood of Car, Then Waiting 10 Hours Before Taking Her to Hospital

CORSICANA, TEXAS — A Texas man is behind bars on a murder charge after police say he intentionally launched his girlfriend off the hood of his car during a heated argument — then waited 10 hours to take her to a hospital, where she later died.

According to the Corsicana Police Department, 41-year-old Lamireon Robinson was arrested after an investigation revealed he sped off with his girlfriend, 35-year-old Sharette Hervey, clinging to the hood of his vehicle before slamming on the brakes, causing her to fly off and suffer fatal head injuries.

Police Say Argument Escalated Into Deadly Confrontation

The incident began on October 4, when hospital staff in Corsicana reported a woman with extensive head injuries brought in by Robinson, who claimed she had “fallen.” Doctors said Hervey appeared confused, vomiting, and bleeding from a fractured skull caused by blunt-force trauma.

Investigators soon discovered the suspect’s story didn’t add up. Video obtained from Carroll Elementary School, near the couple’s home on East 13th Avenue, captured the horrifying sequence.

The footage showed Robinson entering his car as Hervey climbed onto the hood to stop him from leaving, police said. Robinson allegedly drove forward, trying to shake her off, before “accelerating rapidly” and slamming the brakes about 30 yards down the street — throwing her onto the pavement, where she hit her head and rolled several yards.

Police said Robinson then spent several minutes trying to lift her unconscious body into the car before returning to the house, leaving her without medical attention.

10-Hour Delay Before Hospital Visit

Authorities say Robinson waited roughly 10 hours before finally taking Hervey to the hospital, where she was admitted with a traumatic brain bleed and multiple injuries.

Hervey was placed on life support but died on October 12, eight days after the attack. Following her death, police upgraded Robinson’s charges from aggravated assault to murder.

Investigators also allege that Robinson deleted home surveillance footage from the day of the incident and repaired damage to his car’s hood shortly after. Witnesses, including juveniles, corroborated the timeline of events.

Suspect in Custody After Evading Police

After Hervey’s death, Corsicana detectives obtained arrest warrants for murder and two counts of tampering with evidence. Robinson initially evaded law enforcement before eventually surrendering through his attorney on Friday.

He is currently being held at the Navarro County Justice Center on a $300,000 bond.

“The evidence shows a clear disregard for human life,” Corsicana Police Chief Robert Johnson said in a statement. “This tragedy could have been prevented had the suspect called for help immediately.”
