PHILADELPHIA, PA — Devil Master have released “Death Anthem,” a new single paired with a music video and billed as the latest look at their next album, Bloody Dreams. The Philadelphia metal-punk band’s six-song record is set for release Sept. 4 through Relapse Records.
The new track arrives as the group keeps building toward the album rollout, giving fans another sample of the heavier, stranger edge that has defined the band’s recent material. The title track is not the centerpiece here; instead, “Death Anthem” is meant to broaden the picture of what Bloody Dreams will sound like.
A song built as a tribute to underground influences
Frontman and guitarist Darkest Prince said the new song pays tribute to Japanese punk and metal band G.I.S.M., with specific honors to Sakevi Yokoyama, who died in 2023, and Randy Uchida, who died in 2001. He also pointed to lyrical and thematic references tied to Satan, Dionysus and Kali.
Those details place the single in Devil Master’s familiar lane: abrasive, occult-leaning and rooted in extreme-music lineage rather than radio-friendly polish. For listeners, the release works as both a standalone track and a clue to the worldview behind the album.
Guest players and a compact six-track album add to the anticipation
Bloody Dreams includes six tracks: “You Worms’ Vain Delusions,” “Trembling at Dusk,” “Sex with Succubus,” “Death Anthem,” “Bloody Dreams” and “Farewell Waltz to Unfortune’s Palace.” The record also brings in guest appearances from Mirai Kawashima of Sigh, former Power Trip drummer Chris Ulsh and Ur Èmdr Œrvn of Arkha Sva.

Europe dates will follow the album’s arrival
Devil Master will head to Europe in September, beginning Sept. 3 in Aleksandrow Lodzki, Poland, and continuing through stops in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and France. The itinerary also includes select dates supporting Sigh, marked with an asterisk on the schedule.
