Four Rock County Men Face Federal Charges in Pornography, Drug, and Weapons Cases

MADISON, Wis. — Four men from Rock County are facing federal indictments on a range of serious charges, including child pornography, drug trafficking, weapons violations, and sex crimes, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin announced this week.
Michael Shu: Child Pornography Charges
Michael Shu, 25, of Beloit, was charged with producing and receiving child pornography. Prosecutors allege that in March he persuaded a minor to produce child pornography on two occasions and also received images from the child through Discord.
If convicted, Shu faces 15 to 30 years in prison for production and 5 to 20 years for receiving child pornography.
Gabriel Lebron Mejia: Drug and Firearms Offenses
Gabriel Lebron Mejia, also known as “Fernando,” 26, of Beloit, is accused of distributing fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, maintaining a drug house, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of trafficking.
Court records allege that between January and August, Lebron Mejia distributed drugs at least five times, including 40 grams or more of fentanyl. He also allegedly possessed fentanyl and cocaine for distribution on August 28, along with a firearm.
If convicted on the fentanyl charge, he faces 5 to 40 years in prison, with additional counts carrying up to 20 years each, and a firearms charge punishable by 5 years to life.
Dashun Wheeler Jr.: False Firearms Purchases
Dashun Wheeler Jr., 22, of Janesville, was indicted on three counts of making false statements while purchasing firearms. Prosecutors allege that in August, September, and October 2024, Wheeler purchased handguns and falsely stated on ATF paperwork that he was the actual buyer when he was purchasing for others.
If convicted, Wheeler faces up to 5 years in prison.
Adam Gurney: Sex Trafficking of a Minor
Adam Gurney, 29, of Janesville, is charged with transporting a minor for illegal sexual activity. Between August 11 and 12, 2024, prosecutors allege he transported a 16-year-old from North Carolina to Wisconsin with intent to engage in sexual acts.
If convicted, Gurney faces 10 years to life in prison.
