LAFD Helicopter Rescue Assists Hikers In Topanga State Park

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Two hikers in Topanga State Park required emergency assistance on Monday after one fell ill on a remote trail, prompting a helicopter rescue by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Rescue Operation Near Entrada Road
According to KTLA, the hikers were unable to make their way back to their starting point near Will Rogers State Historic Park. The LAFD dispatched crews to the 20800 block of Entrada Road, where a distress call had been received.
Fire officials confirmed that paramedics were quickly on scene and one of the men was airlifted from the trail for evaluation.
“Our team was able to provide the necessary medical assessments before removing the hikers from the situation,” LAFD said in its initial briefing.
LAFD Statement On Incident
In an alert notification from LAFD, officials revealed that while the hikers required helicopter assistance to be extracted, they declined transport to a local hospital after being rescued.
“Though the hikers requested air support for evacuation, they refused further medical care once safely brought to the ground,” the department added.
No additional updates were immediately available following the rescue.
The successful operation highlighted the readiness of Los Angeles fire crews to respond to emergencies in rugged park terrain, where traditional ground access can be difficult. For more updates on regional safety and community news, follow ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
