Florida Woman Accused of Stabbing 15-Year-Old Sister 10 Times After Being Caught Looking Through Teen’s Phone
CUTLER BAY, FLORIDA — A 26-year-old Florida woman is behind bars without bond after allegedly stabbing her 15-year-old sister 10 times during a violent outburst that police say began when the teen caught her older sibling snooping through her phone.
According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Lynn My Le was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder following the brutal attack inside their family’s Cutler Bay home.
An arrest report reviewed by Law&Crime reveals that the incident began early Sunday morning when the teenage victim, who had been sleeping in the living room, woke up to find Le scrolling through her phone.
When the 15-year-old grabbed her phone back and demanded an explanation, Le allegedly stormed off to retrieve a black kitchen knife. Moments later, she charged at her younger sister as the terrified teen tried to flee.
Teen Pleaded for Her Life During the Attack
Police said Le caught up to the teen near the front door and stabbed her four times in the back before she collapsed. The older sister then continued to stab her six more times as the 15-year-old cried out in pain.
“The victim pleaded for her life,” police wrote in the arrest report. “At that point, the defendant stopped the attack, leaving the victim bleeding on the floor.”
When officers arrived at the home, they found the teen suffering from at least 10 stab wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors listed her in critical but stable condition.
Suspect Refused to Speak to Investigators
Police arrested Le at the scene. Detectives said she refused to give a statement or cooperate with questioning.
She was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and appeared in court Monday, where a judge ordered she be held without bond due to the violent nature of the crime.
Her arraignment is scheduled for November 17.
Family and Community Left in Shock
Neighbors told local outlet WPLG they were stunned by the news, describing the family as quiet and friendly. “It’s heartbreaking — they were just normal people,” one resident said.
Police have not released details on what might have motivated Le to go through her sister’s phone or what triggered her rage.
The younger sister remains hospitalized as investigators continue piecing together the timeline of the attack.
