Lexington Police Identify 81-Year-Old Victim Found Shot to Death Inside Lakebow Court Home

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY — The Lexington Police Department has identified the man found shot to death inside a home on Lakebow Court Friday afternoon as 81-year-old Thomas Kriegel of Lexington, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Police were called to the 400 block of Lakebow Court, just off Squires Road, around 1 p.m. on October 24, for what was initially reported as a death investigation. When officers arrived, they discovered Kriegel dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside the residence.

Police Continue Search for Shooter

The case is being handled by the Lexington Police Personal Crimes Unit, which confirmed that no suspect information has been released and the investigation remains active.

Authorities have not indicated whether the shooting appeared to be targeted or random, but neighbors say police remained at the scene for several hours Friday afternoon as evidence technicians collected materials from inside and around the home.
