Louisville Police Investigating After One Man Killed and Another Injured in Two Closely Timed Shootings on Greenwood Avenue

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — Louisville Metro Police are investigating two shootings that occurred minutes apart late Saturday night in the city’s Parkland neighborhood, leaving one man dead and another wounded. Detectives are now working to determine whether the incidents are connected and what led up to the violence.

Two Shooting Scenes Minutes Apart on Greenwood Avenue

According to LMPD, officers were first called to the 2900 block of Greenwood Avenue around 11:40 p.m. Saturday, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UofL Hospital and is expected to survive.

Just minutes later, police received another call — this time to the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue, where officers located a second man inside a residence. Despite life-saving efforts on scene, he was pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released pending notification of family members.

Investigators Working to Determine Link Between Victims

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is working to determine whether the two victims knew each other or were involved in the same incident. Police have not identified any suspects, and no arrests have been made.

Detectives are also asking residents in the area to review any home surveillance footage captured around the time of the shootings.
