Seattle Police Arrest Two Teens With Car Theft Gear And Guns After Pioneer Square Chase

SEATTLE, Wash. — Two 18-year-old suspects are facing a list of charges after Seattle police recovered firearms, stolen identification cards, and car theft equipment following a foot chase through Pioneer Square early Sunday morning.

Attempted Car Theft Sparks Chase

Police said the incident began around 1:35 a.m. Sunday, when a Dodge Charger was reported stolen after its window was smashed. Officers spotted two individuals inside the car, who then fled on foot when confronted.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the suspects ignored commands to stop and attempted to blend into the downtown crowd.

“Although the suspects attempted to blend into the downtown crowd, their efforts were thwarted; the Seattle police closed in on them within a minute of their flight,” SPD reported.

Weapons And Stolen Items Recovered

During the arrests, officers recovered a modified handgun with an extended magazine, another handgun equipped with an automatic switch, and multiple stolen items, including:

  • Stolen driver’s licenses
  • A Social Security card
  • Key fob programmers
  • Burglary tools

Police also noted the stolen Dodge Charger was left with a damaged ignition, rendering it undrivable. Repairs and towing costs are estimated at around $1,000.

Additionally, a pair of Chrome Heart glasses valued at $4,000 were reported missing from the vehicle, adding theft and vandalism to the growing list of charges.

Suspects Booked Into King County Jail

The two suspects were booked into the King County Jail on charges of attempted motor vehicle theft, firearm violations, and possession of stolen property. Detectives from the General Investigations Unit have taken over the case.

Authorities said the level of preparation and equipment recovered indicates a troubling degree of criminal planning.

Seattle police emphasized that ongoing patrols in Pioneer Square remain focused on curbing car thefts and violent crime in the downtown area. For more updates on law enforcement and public safety news, follow ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
