Wisconsin Police Launch Homicide Investigation After 26-Year-Old Man Dies of Gunshot Wound
RACINE, WISCONSIN — A 26-year-old man is dead, and police have launched a homicide investigation after he was brought to a local hospital with a fatal gunshot wound early Saturday morning, according to the Racine Police Department.
Authorities say the incident began around 4:17 a.m., when officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 10th Street following reports of shots fired. Shortly afterward, they learned the victim had arrived at the emergency room suffering from a gunshot injury.
Despite efforts by medical staff, the man succumbed to his injuries, prompting police to treat the case as an active homicide investigation.

Detectives from the Racine Police Department’s Investigations Unit are working to determine where and how the shooting occurred. Investigators spent the morning canvassing the area near 10th Street, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses who may have seen or heard gunfire.
