Drug-Sniffing K-9 “Don” Helps Police Seize Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Ketamine From Wisconsin Man’s Cadillac on I-80
UNION COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA — A 29-year-old man from Madison, Wisconsin was arrested after a drug-sniffing K-9 helped Pennsylvania State Police uncover multiple narcotics, including fentanyl, cocaine, and ketamine, during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 earlier this month.
According to court documents, Corporal Christopher Isbitski of the Pennsylvania State Police Central Canine Unit pulled over a 2025 Cadillac Escalade on October 16 after the driver, identified as Evan Mathew McCoy, was seen following another vehicle too closely.
When McCoy refused consent for a vehicle search, another trooper, Corporal Mark Conrad, deployed K-9 “Don” to inspect the exterior of the vehicle. The dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs, prompting police to secure a search warrant.

The vehicle was towed to the PSP Milton barracks, where investigators obtained a search warrant approved by District Judge Michael Diehl.
Inside, police reportedly found:
- Three large containers of powdered substances
- Three plastic bags and a Dr. Teal’s bath salt bag
- Two MSM supplement containers
- Eleven unidentified pills
Field tests confirmed the presence of ketamine, cocaine, and fentanyl among the substances seized.
Wisconsin Man Faces Multiple Felony Drug Charges
McCoy now faces three felony charges of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, as well as misdemeanor possession charges and a traffic citation.
He was arraigned before District Judge Jeffrey Mensch, who set bail at $250,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 28.
“K-9 Don’s alert was critical in uncovering these dangerous drugs before they reached the streets,” a state police spokesperson said, crediting the canine’s detection work.
The case is being handled by the Pennsylvania State Police Milton barracks, and McCoy remains in custody pending court proceedings.
