Huntingdon Train Stabbing Horror: Suspect Screamed “Kill Me” as Police Tasered Him; 11 Injured, 2 Critical
HUNTINGDON, CAMBRIDGESHIRE — Chaos erupted aboard a high-speed train Saturday night when a knife-wielding man launched a brutal stabbing attack, leaving 11 passengers injured — two critically — before being subdued by police near Huntingdon station.
Authorities confirmed that two men, aged 32 and 35, both British nationals, were arrested following the terrifying incident, which has drawn national shock and prompted heightened police security across the UK rail network.
Suspect Screamed “Kill Me” Before Being Tasered
According to eyewitness Viorel, a 42-year-old taxi driver who was at the scene, one suspect shouted “kill me, kill me, kill me” as officers wrestled him to the ground moments after the attack.
“He was dressed in black and holding a huge kitchen knife,” Viorel told MailOnline. “The police arrived seconds later, and I heard him shouting ‘kill me’ over and over. They Tasered him, told him to drop the weapon — it was terrifying.”
The British Transport Police (BTP) said the stabbings occurred shortly after the train departed Peterborough Station, though investigators have yet to confirm where the suspects boarded. Both men are being held at separate police stations as detectives work to determine a motive.
While officials have ruled out terrorism, the BTP Superintendent John Loveless said it remains too early to speculate on what led to the attack.
Victims in Hospital, King Charles and PM Respond
At least 11 passengers were hospitalized, with two remaining in critical condition as of Sunday afternoon. Hospitals across Cambridgeshire and nearby counties are continuing to treat victims for stab wounds and shock.
Both Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and King Charles III released statements expressing sympathy for those affected.
“We are truly appalled and shocked by this dreadful knife attack,” King Charles said in a message released Sunday. “Our deepest thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones.”
Massive Security Surge on Rail Network
In the aftermath, British Transport Police have deployed extra officers across major terminals — including London, Birmingham, York, Leeds, and Manchester — with a visible presence on east coast mainline trains.
Government sources confirmed this “surge operation” will continue into Tuesday to reassure travelers and prevent copycat attacks. Passengers are advised to expect brief disruptions near Huntingdon as investigations continue.
The knife attack, which took place in under eight minutes, is being described as one of the most violent incidents ever recorded aboard a UK passenger train. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and eyewitness testimony to reconstruct the sequence of events.
