Two Men Injured in Shooting at Louisville’s Shawnee Park, Police Investigating

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — Two men were hospitalized after a shooting at Shawnee Park Tuesday evening, prompting an investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit, authorities confirmed.

Officers were called to the area of 45th Street and West Broadway around 5:15 p.m., where they found a man inside a vehicle who had been shot multiple times. As officers provided first aid, they were informed of a second victim nearby who had also been shot.

Victims Expected to Survive

Police said the second man was found within Shawnee Park, suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. Officers immediately provided medical assistance until EMS arrived on scene.

Both victims were taken to UofL Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition and are expected to survive their injuries.

The scene remained active for several hours Tuesday evening as detectives worked to piece together what led up to the shooting and determine whether the victims were connected.

Investigation and Public Appeal

The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Unit has taken over the investigation. Detectives have not identified any suspects or motives at this time.
